::Sinopsis::
En un pequeño pueblo del estado de Lousiana, la aparición de una serie de brutales asesinatos hace peligrar la convivencia entre vampiros y seres humanos, que hasta entonces han sido capaces de convivir en armonía gracias a una bebida japonesa compuesta de sangre sintética. Dicha convivencia no era bienvenida por todos, pues entre los vampiros desconfían y reniegan aquellos que prefieren seguir alimentándose de sangre humana, y por otro lado algunos hombres tampoco la desean. En ese entorno surge el polémico romance entre el primer vampiro que llega al pueblo, Bill Compton, y una camarera, Sookie Stackhouse, que puede leer la mente de la gente.
